[sumo-user] Flowrouter routes missing / not as expected

Ferfers, Tobias

Dear all,

thanks for the help last time about the flowrouter. At the moment I play around with the flowrouter to get to know it a little bit better since my intension is to  model traffic demand based on count data in a network.

Therefore I use a simple crossroad with induction loop detectors at the moment.

The test network consists of one crossroad with a combination of multi lane edges (as you can see in the picture in eth eappendix “cross_det.svg”).

What I expect is that the flowrouter creates routes for every lane with detectors. Which would result in covering most of the directions of that crossroad.

The problem I have in my test network is that the flowrouter doesn’t compute all routes. For example routes from west to north, east to west, north to west are completely missing. Furthermore there are no routes from the south.

If there is an edge with multiple lanes it seems that the flowrouter only calculates routes for one of them.

I tried different things, deleted some detectors, added some detectors but its always the same result.

My Questions are:

  1. Can the flowrouter even handle multi lane edges like in the test network?
  2. Do you have any idea why the flowrouter does not compute some routes?
  3. Since there are no routes from the south, can the flowrouter handle e3 detectors?

Setup:

Ubuntu 18.04

Eclipse SUMO sumo Version 1.7.0

Build features: Linux-5.4.0-45-generic x86_64 GNU 7.5.0 Release Proj GUI SWIG GDAL GL2PS

The network and so on can be found in the appendix.

Thanks in advance

Tobias

Re: [sumo-user] Flowrouter routes missing / not as expected

Jakob Erdmann
Hello,
1) flowrouter does not care about lanes. If there are detectors on adjacent lanes their flows will be added but you can just as well put all the flow data on a single detector (placed on an arbitrary lane).
2,3) flowrouter does not handle e3 detectors only e1 detectors

regards,
Jakob
